The book gives a vivid account of the political history of Sudan from 1821 to 1969. It testifies the reality of the North and the South of Sudan, both of which being different in every aspect: geographical, ethnic, cultural and religious. It shows that two Sudans became one sovereign state by colonial default. The book is an analysis of what followed it.
