The Nigerian Constitution leaves little or no provision towards the emancipation of the female folk. Economically and socially, women find themselves endangered. Very insignificant number of them is able to kick against this as it affects their reproductive health and the lhealth of their children. Culture demands that they be silent in the face of oppression. The book revisits the socio-cultural practices affecting this 'tormented gender' the women. It also draws attention to the effects of these on the family in particular and thae nation as a whole. Adjuvant therapy where applicable is offered. The extracts, which are non-fiction, were based on the author's personal experience, with a few others as told by friends from the locality concerned. Some names have been deliberately altered to give confidentiality to some privileged information.
