Education in The Middle East and North Africa The Current Situation and Furture Challenges Akkari, Abdeljalil

This paper investigates the education development in the Middle East and North Africa, drawing on data from different international and national institutions. The paper begins with a review of similarities between counties within the region, and continues by investigating the situation of basic education, literacy rates and quality of education. In the third section, issues of inequality between public and private education are discussed. The paper concludes by outlining future educational challenges in the region.
