The past analyses of effect of trade liberalisation on agricultural productivity employed aggregate analysis procedure. What is done most of the time is to treat the issue of liberalization at macro level without specific treatments. The immediate consequence of this is differentiated conclusions. However, we know that generalizations do not make
sense. This study examines the effect of trade liberalisation on chicken meat importation and productivity in Africa, using Nigeria as a case study. Relevant data were collected from Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) Database (1961-2005) and were analysed using percentage distribution and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA).
